Elizabeth Olsen, renowned for her portrayal of Wanda Maximoff, also known as the Scarlet Witch, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), has recently addressed her involvement in upcoming MCU projects. In a recent interview, Olsen stated she will not be appearing in the forthcoming Avengers films, “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars,” scheduled for release in 2026 and 2027, respectively. She mentioned that she has completed work on a project titled “Panic Carefully” and is beginning a new pilot for FX called “Seven Sisters.”
Despite this, Marvel Studios has confirmed that Olsen will return to the MCU in 2025 as part of the cast for the animated series “Marvel Zombies.” This series is set to premiere on October 3, 2025, and will feature Olsen reprising her role as the Scarlet Witch.

Olsen has previously expressed openness to returning to the MCU under the right circumstances. In an interview, she stated she would be “happy to come back” if there was a “good way” to utilize her character.
Given the MCU’s history of secrecy and unexpected character returns, fans remain hopeful that the Scarlet Witch may reappear in future live-action films. However, as of now, Olsen’s confirmed involvement is limited to the “Marvel Zombies” series in 2025.
